From the 9th until the 13th of June took place in Seville (Spain) the Symposium on Micromechanics of defects in solids (SMDS2014) organized by Professor Pilar Ariza, from the University of Seville, and the International Union of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (IUTAM). It was attended by fifty first class guest delegates and a dozen young researchers, among whom was Emilio Martínez Pañeda representing SIMUMECAMAT.

 

The organization of the event was splendid and attendees had the opportunity to see first hand the recent progress of internationally recognized research groups in solid mechanics. A splendid setting to present the latest advances of SIMUMECAMAT in the analysis of the plastic size effect through the work:
